Chelsea Removalist
Removalists in Chelsea

What we offer
in Chelsea
Apex Moving provides removalist services in Chelsea, a flat bayside suburb between the Frankston railway line and the beach. Blocks are narrow, streets are narrow, and townhouse infill has added a lot of shared driveways, so where the truck stands is usually the first thing to settle.

Residential Moves
Household moves across Chelsea, from original beach cottages and postwar homes to newer townhouses and units.

Business Relocations
Office, clinic and shopfront relocations around the Station Street strip and the Nepean Highway frontages.

Specialty Item Transport
Pianos, artwork and other heavy or awkward items moved with the right equipment and enough crew.

Removalists in Chelsea
Chelsea sits in the City of Kingston, roughly 30 kilometres south-east of the CBD, on the long flat strip of bayside suburbs between Aspendale and Carrum. It began as a beach settlement, and the original subdivision still shapes it: a tight grid of narrow streets on narrow blocks running back from the foreshore, with the railway line and Nepean Highway dividing the suburb lengthways.
Narrow blocks and shared driveways
Chelsea has seen heavy townhouse and unit infill on the original beach-cottage allotments, and that is the defining access issue. Two, three or four dwellings now commonly share one long driveway, sometimes with a bend and rarely with room to turn. A large truck often cannot get past the first unit, which means a longer carry rather than a problem — provided it is known in advance. We ask which unit number you are and how far back it sits when we quote, so the crew size and the price account for the carry instead of the day running over.
Older cottages and newer townhouses
The remaining original homes are small-footprint weatherboards with narrow hallways, tight doorways and limited turning room inside, where the furniture rather than the truck is the constraint. The replacements are two- and three-storey townhouses with a straight but narrow staircase and a tight landing turn, where wardrobes and bed bases are the pieces that stall. Either way the awkward items are worth measuring against the route before the day.
Parking, the highway and the railway line
Streets close to the foreshore fill with beach parking through summer and on warm weekends, so start times matter more in the warmer months. Nepean Highway carries clearway restrictions through peak periods, so any address fronting it is loaded outside those windows. The railway line runs the length of the suburb, which means east–west movement depends on the available crossing points and a truck may take a longer route than a car would.
Getting around
Chelsea station sits on the Frankston line in the middle of the suburb, with the Station Street shopping strip beside it. For trucks the useful routes are Nepean Highway, Station Street, Chelsea Road, Thames Promenade and Wells Road, with the Mornington Peninsula Freeway a short run east.
Where Chelsea moves go
Most stay along the bayside strip: Bonbeach, Carrum, Edithvale, Aspendale, Seaford or Patterson Lakes. There is also a steady flow of buyers arriving from further inland for the beach access and the train line, and downsizers moving from the older houses into the new townhouses a few streets away.
