Removalists in Templestowe
Templestowe sits in the City of Manningham, roughly 16 kilometres north-east of the CBD, between Doncaster, Templestowe Lower, Warrandyte and the Yarra River. It is one of the larger-lot suburbs in metropolitan Melbourne: generous blocks, winding streets and courts following the contours, mature gardens, and pockets closer to the river that remain semi-rural with paddocks, outbuildings and properties measured in acres rather than square metres.
Long driveways and where the truck stops
Most homes here have a private driveway, and many of them are long, curved and narrower than they first appear, with a garage set well back from the street. Some run downhill to the house, some pass under overhanging trees, and a few finish with no room for a large vehicle to turn. Whether a loaded truck can get to the door and back out again is the single most useful thing to establish before the day. We ask about the driveway length, width, grade and turning space when we quote, and where the vehicle cannot get close we plan a shuttle and include the carry in the price.
Large houses, split levels and outbuildings
The housing runs from original 1970s and 80s split-levels to substantial modern rebuilds, and both bring internal complications: half-flights between living areas, garages under the main floor, and staircases with a landing turn where wardrobes, bed bases and larger sofas stall. The block sizes also mean sheds, workshops, garden machinery, pool equipment, trailers and stored furniture are common, and on the semi-rural properties there may be stables, hay sheds or machinery as well. These are the items most often left off an inventory and the most likely to change the truck size, so we ask about outbuildings specifically.
Getting around
Templestowe has no railway station; the suburb runs on cars and buses, with the Doncaster Park and Ride serving the Eastern Freeway corridor. For trucks the useful routes are Manningham Road, Thompsons Road, Williamsons Road, Foote Street and Porter Street, with the Eastern Freeway a short run south. Manningham Road and the freeway ramps are slow in both peaks, and the narrow winding residential streets mean a smaller vehicle is often the faster option.
Where Templestowe moves go
Most stay in the north-east: Doncaster, Templestowe Lower, Bulleen, Warrandyte, Park Orchards or Donvale. There is also a regular pattern of downsizing off the large blocks into local townhouses, and families moving in for the space, the schools and the river parkland.
