Removalists in Sunshine West
Sunshine West sits in the City of Brimbank, roughly 13 kilometres west of the CBD, between Sunshine, Braybrook, Brooklyn and Derrimut. It is a suburb of two halves: postwar brick and weatherboard housing on generous blocks with wide streets, and a substantial industrial and logistics precinct of factories, warehouses and transport yards that has been part of the area for decades.
Commercial and factory moves
The industrial side is straightforward for access and demanding for scheduling. Most sites have roller doors, hardstand and room for a truck to turn, but sign-in requirements, shared driveways between tenancies and set access hours shape the day. Machinery, racking, stock and office fit-out usually move as separate stages rather than one load, and it is worth deciding early what has to be operational first at the new site. We plan business relocations around the access windows at both ends rather than around the street.
Residential access
On the housing side, moves here are among the more comfortable in the west: wide streets, room to position a truck at the kerb, private driveways and a short carry. Where it tightens is the subdivided blocks, with units running back behind the original house down a narrow shared drive and no turning space at the end. There the truck parks at the front and the crew carries, which is fine when it is priced in, so we ask which unit you are and how far back it sits.
Older homes, sheds and stored goods
The original houses have narrow hallways and tight door openings, so fridges and larger lounges commonly need internal doors off their hinges. Nearly all have a garage, shed or workshop, and in a suburb with this much trade activity those outbuildings often hold tools, equipment and materials well beyond ordinary household storage — the part of an inventory most often understated. We ask about them specifically.
Getting around
Sunshine West has no railway station of its own, with Sunshine, Albion and Tottenham the nearest connections and buses across the suburb. For trucks the connections are excellent: Somerville Road, McIntyre Road, Ballarat Road, the Western Ring Road and the Princes Freeway all serve the area, giving a direct run to the ports, the city or the west outside peak periods.
Where Sunshine West moves go
Residential moves mostly stay in the west: Sunshine, Braybrook, Albion, Deer Park, St Albans or Altona North. Commercial moves are often businesses expanding within the precinct or relocating in from smaller premises closer to the city.
