Removalists in Ringwood East

Ringwood East sits in the City of Maroondah, roughly 25 kilometres east of the CBD, between Ringwood, Croydon, Heathmont and Warranwood. It was built out mainly through the postwar decades and the 1960s: brick and weatherboard homes on generous blocks, undulating streets with mature native trees, and a small shopping strip beside the station, with townhouse and unit development added closer to the line over the past two decades.

Grade, driveways and rear blocks

Access at most properties is comfortable, but two things are worth checking before a large truck is booked. The land undulates, so a share of houses sit above or below street level with driveways that climb or drop away, and some garages sit under the house. And battle-axe and rear allotments are common, with a narrow shared drive running well back from the street and no turning space at the end. Where a loaded truck cannot get in and back out safely we plan a shuttle from the street and include the carry in the price rather than adding it on the morning.

Older homes, split levels and steps

Houses built into the slope are often split-level, with half-flights between living areas and external steps to the front door — both of which slow every trip and usually mean more crew rather than a bigger truck. The original homes have narrow hallways and tight door openings, so fridges and larger lounges commonly need internal doors off their hinges. We measure the awkward pieces against the route before the day.

Blocks, sheds and stored goods

Block sizes here mean sheds, workshops, garden machinery, firewood, trailers and under-house storage are common, and they routinely add more volume than expected. That is consistently the part of an inventory most often understated, so we ask about outbuildings and stored items specifically when quoting.

Getting around

Ringwood East station sits on the Belgrave and Lilydale lines with the shops beside it. For trucks the useful routes are Maroondah Highway, Bedford Road, Mount Dandenong Road and Railway Avenue, with EastLink and the Eastern Freeway a short run away. Maroondah Highway is heavy in both peaks; the residential streets behind it rarely are.

Where Ringwood East moves go

Most stay in the outer east: Ringwood, Croydon, Heathmont, Warranwood, Ringwood North or Mitcham. There is also a regular pattern of downsizing off the larger blocks into local townhouses, and families moving in for the space and the train line.
