in Bayswater North

Apex Moving provides removalist services in Bayswater North, an outer-eastern suburb of 1970s and 80s homes on generous blocks, laid out in long streets and courts. Driveways are private and the carry is short; the courts and battle-axe drives are what need checking first.

Removalists in Bayswater North

Bayswater North sits in the City of Maroondah, roughly 30 kilometres east of the CBD, between Bayswater, Croydon South, Heathmont and Ringwood East. It was built out mainly through the 1970s and 80s: single-storey and split-level brick homes on generous blocks, long curving streets and courts, mature gardens, and an industrial and trade frontage along Canterbury Road on the southern edge.

Courts, battle-axe blocks and driveways

Access at most properties is comfortable — a private driveway, a short carry and room to work at the kerb. The two things worth checking are the court bowls, which are usually the hardest place to turn a long truck once cars are parked around the edge, and the battle-axe and rear allotments where a narrow shared drive runs well back from the street with no turning space at the end. Whether a loaded truck can get in and back out is worth settling when we quote; where it cannot we plan a shuttle from the street and include the carry in the price.

Split levels and large blocks

A good share of the original housing is split-level, with half-flights between living areas, a garage under the main floor and external steps to the front door. Wardrobes, sofas and appliances often need to come apart or take a different route, which changes the crew size rather than the truck. The block sizes also mean sheds, workshops, garden machinery, trailers and stored equipment are common, and they routinely add more to a load than the house does — the part of an inventory most often understated, so we ask about outbuildings specifically.

Commercial frontages

The Canterbury Road frontage holds workshops, warehouses and trade businesses. Access there is generally good, with roller doors and room to turn, but shared driveways between tenancies and set access hours shape the schedule, and racking, stock and office fit-out usually move as separate stages.

Getting around

Bayswater North has no railway station of its own, with Bayswater, Heathmont and Ringwood East the nearest connections and buses across the suburb. For trucks the useful routes are Canterbury Road, Colchester Road, Mount Dandenong Road and Bayswater Road, with EastLink a short run west for anything crossing the city.

Where Bayswater North moves go

Most stay in the outer east: Bayswater, Croydon, Heathmont, Ringwood, Boronia or Kilsyth. There is also a regular pattern of downsizing off the large blocks into local townhouses, and families moving in for the space and the block sizes.
