Removalists in Caulfield East
Caulfield East sits in the City of Glen Eira, roughly ten kilometres south-east of the CBD, wrapped around Caulfield Racecourse and the Caulfield campus of Monash University. It is one of the smaller suburbs in the area and one of the more mixed: interwar and postwar houses on the quieter streets, older walk-up flats from the 1960s and 70s, and newer apartment buildings closer to the station and the campus.
Apartments, flats and lifts
A large share of moves here are in or out of a unit rather than a house, and that is where the planning matters. The older walk-ups generally have no lift, a shared driveway and a small number of visitor bays, so the truck position and the stair route decide how the day runs. The newer buildings usually have a lift and a loading area, but many require the lift to be booked and padded through building management, and some limit loading to set hours. We ask which building you are in when we quote so the access is arranged rather than assumed.
Dandenong Road and loading
Dandenong Road runs through the suburb as a major arterial with service roads either side and clearway restrictions on the main carriageway through peak periods. For any address fronting it, loading happens off the service road and start times are set to avoid the restricted windows. The residential streets behind it are far easier, though narrower, with parking on both sides.
Student and academic-year moves
The university campus gives Caulfield East a strong seasonal pattern, with a concentration of moves around semester start and end. Those are typically smaller loads, upper-floor units and short local hops, and they book out quickly in the busy weeks. Where dates are flexible, a midweek slot outside those peaks is easier to secure and easier to park for.
Getting around
Caulfield station sits on the suburb boundary and is a junction for several lines, and trams run along Dandenong Road. For trucks the useful routes are Dandenong Road, Normanby Road, Station Street, Neerim Road and Kambrook Road, with the Monash Freeway a short run north for anything heading east.
Where Caulfield East moves go
Most stay in the south-east: Caulfield North, Carnegie, Malvern East, Murrumbeena or Elsternwick. There is also constant turnover in the unit stock driven by the campus and the station, with tenants moving in and out on short cycles.
