Removalists in Deer Park

Deer Park sits in the City of Brimbank, roughly 17 kilometres west of the CBD, where the established western suburbs meet the growth corridor heading out towards Melton. The older housing is postwar and 1970s brick veneer on generous blocks with wide streets and long driveways. Alongside it are newer residential estates built on former industrial and quarry land, and a large amount of working industrial property that has been part of the suburb since well before the housing filled in around it.

Two kinds of street

In the established streets, access is about as easy as Melbourne gets: wide carriageways, room to position a truck at the kerb, private driveways and short carries. The newer estate pockets follow the current pattern instead — compact lots, single-width driveways, small setbacks and cars parked both sides, which leaves one working lane. Knowing which part of the suburb an address sits in changes the crew and the truck we send, so we ask when we quote.

Larger blocks, more to move

The older homes here typically come with a garage, a shed and often a workshop or a carport, and those hold more than people expect — tools, garden machinery, building materials, spare furniture and stored boxes. Trailers, boats and second vehicles are common too. These are the items most often left off an inventory and the most likely to change the truck size on the day, so we ask about outbuildings and stored goods specifically.

Commercial and industrial moves

Deer Park has long-standing industrial precincts with warehouses, workshops and yards, and those moves run differently to a house. Access is generally good — roller doors, hardstand, room to turn — but site sign-in, security and set access hours shape the schedule. For office and warehouse relocations we plan around the site\u2019s access windows and staging space rather than the street.

Getting around

Deer Park station sits on the line out to Melton and Ballarat, and the suburb is well connected for trucks: Ballarat Road, the Western Freeway, the Deer Park Bypass and the Western Ring Road all meet nearby. That makes it a fast suburb to move to or from outside peak, with a direct run north, east or west. Ballarat Road and the Ring Road interchanges are the slow points in the morning and mid-afternoon.

Where Deer Park moves go

Most stay in the west: St Albans, Cairnlea, Caroline Springs, Sunshine, Burnside or further out to Melton. There is also a steady flow of first-home buyers arriving from the inner west and families moving out into the newer estates for the extra space.
