Croydon Hills sits in the City of Maroondah, roughly 30 kilometres east of the CBD, between Croydon, Croydon North, Warranwood and Wonga Park. It was developed largely through the 1980s and 90s on rising ground: brick homes on comfortable blocks, curving streets and a high proportion of courts, established trees, and larger rebuilds appearing among the originals.

Steps slow every trip and usually mean more crew rather than a bigger truck, and wardrobes, bed bases and larger sofas are the pieces that stall at the landing. We measure those against the route before the day.

Blocks, sheds and gardens

Block sizes here mean sheds, garden machinery, outdoor furniture, trailers and under-house storage are common, and they routinely add more volume than expected. This is the part of an inventory most often understated, so we ask about outbuildings and stored items specifically when quoting.

Getting around

Croydon Hills has no railway station, with Croydon and Ringwood the nearest connections and buses serving the suburb. For trucks the useful routes are Maroondah Highway, Yarra Road, Plymouth Road and Wonga Road, with EastLink a short run west. The residential streets are narrow and winding in places, so a smaller vehicle is often the faster option.

Most stay in the outer east: Croydon, Croydon North, Warranwood, Ringwood North, Wonga Park or Mooroolbark. There is also a regular pattern of downsizing off the larger treed blocks into flatter local townhouses, and families moving in for the space and the schools.
