Removalists in Jacana
Jacana sits in the City of Hume, roughly 14 kilometres north-west of the CBD, a small suburb between Broadmeadows, Glenroy, Gladstone Park and Gowanbrae, with the Moonee Ponds Creek corridor and the Tullamarine Freeway along its edges. The housing is largely postwar: brick and weatherboard homes on regular blocks, older public-housing stock, and unit and townhouse infill added on the subdivided sites over the past two decades.
Flat streets, easy positioning
The terrain here is on your side. Jacana is flat, the streets are reasonably wide, and there are no steep driveways or long flights of garden steps. Where a block has not been subdivided, these are among the more straightforward moves in the north: park at the kerb or in the driveway, short carry, done.
Shared driveways and unit numbers
The infill is where it tightens. Units and townhouses commonly sit behind the original house down a single shared driveway, often with a bend and rarely with room to turn at the end, so a large truck cannot get past the first dwelling. The practical answer is to park at the front and carry, which is entirely workable when it is planned into the quote. We ask which unit you are and how far back it sits when we quote, then size the crew and the price for the carry.
Original homes and what they hold
The postwar houses have narrow hallways and door openings well under modern widths, so fridges and larger lounges commonly need internal doors off their hinges. Most have a garage, carport or shed holding tools, garden equipment and stored boxes beyond what an inventory usually captures, so we ask about outbuildings specifically.
Getting around
Jacana station sits on the Craigieburn line, with buses connecting through Broadmeadows and Glenroy. For trucks the useful routes are Pascoe Vale Road, the Tullamarine Freeway and the Western Ring Road, all immediately at hand, giving a direct run to the city, the airport or the west once loaded. The freeway and Ring Road interchanges are the slow points morning and mid-afternoon.
Where Jacana moves go
Most stay in the north and north-west: Broadmeadows, Glenroy, Gladstone Park, Tullamarine, Pascoe Vale or Coolaroo. There is also steady turnover in the unit stock, with tenants moving on shorter cycles and part-loads more common than full house moves.
