Removalists in Keilor North
Keilor North sits in the City of Brimbank, roughly 19 kilometres north-west of the CBD, in the open country between Keilor, Sydenham, Tullamarine and the Maribyrnong River valley. Unlike the estate suburbs around it, it is largely rural-residential: houses on acre-plus blocks, paddocks, outbuildings and long private driveways, with the Calder Freeway running along its edge.
Long driveways, gates and surfaces
The access here is nothing like a suburban street. Driveways can run a hundred metres or more, often unsealed, sometimes through a gate or over a grid, with limited turning space at the house. After sustained rain a gravel or grass surface will not hold a fully loaded truck, and a bogged vehicle turns a half-day job into a full one. We ask about the driveway length, the surface, the gates and the turning space when we quote, and where a large truck cannot safely get in we plan a shuttle from the road with the carry included in the price.
Outbuildings, machinery and stored goods
Properties of this size almost always carry more than the house does. Sheds, workshops, garden and farm machinery, trailers, boats, firewood, feed and stored furniture are routine here, and they are the part of an inventory most often left off entirely. We ask about outbuildings and equipment specifically, because they change the truck size and crew far more than the number of bedrooms does.
Space, but distance too
Being on the fringe means the nearest hardware, packing supplies, storage and equipment hire involve a drive rather than a quick trip, so it pays to have materials on hand before the day starts. We can supply packing materials in advance rather than leaving it to chance. The upside is that once loaded, the Calder Freeway and the Western Ring Road are immediately at hand for a direct run in any direction.
Getting around
Keilor North has no railway station and limited bus service; the area runs on cars, with Watergardens and Keilor Plains the nearest rail connections. For trucks the routes that matter are the Calder Freeway, Keilor Park Drive, Sunbury Road and the Western Ring Road.
Where Keilor North moves go
Most stay in the north-west: Keilor, Taylors Lakes, Sydenham, Tullamarine, Sunbury or Diggers Rest. There is also a regular two-way pattern of households moving out from the suburbs for the space and others moving back in when the acreage becomes more than they want to maintain.
