What Our Client Says

Removalists in South Kingsville
South Kingsville is a small suburb in the City of Hobsons Bay, roughly 9 kilometres west of the CBD, bordered by Newport, Spotswood, Altona North and the Kingsville and Yarraville boundary. It is almost entirely residential and noticeably quiet for how close it sits to the port and the freeway: a compact grid of Californian bungalows, weatherboards and postwar brick homes, with a scattering of newer townhouses and unit developments.
Narrow streets and where the truck stands
The main access consideration here is street width. Frontages are modest, driveways are often single-width or shared with the neighbour, and parking on both sides of a narrow street can leave very little clearance for a twelve-tonne truck. That does not make jobs difficult, but it does need deciding in advance: we work out the standing spot and the carry distance when we quote, and where the street is tight we will bring a smaller vehicle or plan a shuttle rather than discovering the problem on the morning.
Bungalows and what they hold
The original housing stock has narrow central hallways, doorways below modern standard and, in many cases, a rear extension or converted sleepout that adds carry distance. Wardrobes, sofas and fridges frequently need to come apart or take the side path. Long-held homes here also tend to have full garages, sheds and roof storage, which is where most volume underestimates come from, so we ask about outbuildings specifically.
Getting around
Newport and Spotswood stations on the Werribee and Williamstown lines serve the area, and for trucks Melbourne Road, Blackshaws Road and Williamstown Road are the main connections, with the West Gate Freeway a short run north. That gives direct access to the city, the western suburbs and the port once loaded. The West Gate approaches carry heavy freight and are slow in both peaks, so for a full-day job we recommend an early start.
Where South Kingsville moves go
Most stay in the inner west: Newport, Spotswood, Yarraville, Altona North or Williamstown. There is also a steady flow of people moving into the suburb from further in for the block sizes and the quiet, and out of it as households grow. Either way, the street is what we plan around first.
