Removalists in Springvale South
Springvale South sits in the City of Greater Dandenong, roughly 24 kilometres south-east of the CBD, between Springvale, Noble Park, Keysborough and Clayton South. The original housing is postwar and 1960s brick and weatherboard on generous blocks with wide streets, and over the past two decades a large share of those blocks have been subdivided, with two, three or four townhouses replacing a single house.
Subdivided blocks and shared driveways
This is the defining access issue in the suburb. Rear units sit down a long shared driveway, often with a bend and rarely with room to turn at the end, so a large truck usually cannot get past the first dwelling. The practical answer is to park at the front and carry, which is entirely workable when it is planned and expensive in time when it is not. When we quote we ask which unit you are and how far back it sits, then size the crew and the price for the carry rather than adding it on the day.
Original homes and newer townhouses
The remaining postwar houses have narrow hallways and door openings well under modern widths, so fridges and larger lounges often need internal doors off their hinges. Their block sizes also mean sheds, workshops, garden machinery and stored goods are common, and those hold more than an inventory usually accounts for. The newer townhouses are the reverse: easy entry, then a narrow staircase with a tight landing turn where wardrobes and bed bases stall. Either way we measure the awkward pieces against the route beforehand.
Main roads and timing
Springvale Road is the main north-south route through the area and is heavy in both peaks, with Heatherton Road and Westall Road carrying the east-west traffic. For addresses on or near those roads we set start times to load before the peak builds rather than working through it. The shopping strips have tight kerbside parking and loading restrictions, so any shopfront or above-shop move is planned around the available loading windows.
Getting around
Springvale South has no railway station of its own, with Springvale, Sandown Park and Westall the nearest connections and buses across the suburb. For trucks the useful routes are Springvale Road, Heatherton Road, Westall Road, Corrigan Road and the Princes Highway, with the Monash Freeway a short run north.
Where Springvale South moves go
Most stay in the south-east: Springvale, Noble Park, Keysborough, Clayton South, Dandenong or Mulgrave, with a lot of movement between the older houses and the new townhouses a few streets away. There is also a steady flow of families arriving for the schools and the housing value.
