Removalists in Yallambie
Yallambie sits in the City of Banyule, roughly 15 kilometres north-east of the CBD, between Macleod, Viewbank, Lower Plenty and Watsonia, with parkland along the Plenty River on its eastern side. It is one of the smaller suburbs in the area, built out mainly through the 1970s and 80s: brick homes on comfortable blocks, streets and courts following undulating ground, mature gardens, and larger rebuilds appearing among the originals.
Grade, courts and driveways
Access at most properties is straightforward — a private driveway, a short carry and room to work at the kerb. Two things change that. The first is the grade, since a share of houses sit above or below street level with driveways that climb or drop away and garages under the house. The second is the court layout: a bowl that looks roomy is usually the hardest place in the suburb to turn a long truck once cars are parked around the edge. We ask about the driveway and the street when we quote so the right size vehicle is sent, and where a truck cannot get close we plan a shuttle from the street with the carry included in the price.
Split levels and steps
Houses built into the slope are often split-level, with half-flights between living areas and external steps up or down to the front door. Steps slow every trip, rule out trolleys for part of the load and mean more crew rather than a bigger truck. Internally, wardrobes, sofas and appliances often need to come apart or take a different route, so we measure the awkward pieces against the route before the day.
Blocks, sheds and stored goods
Block sizes here mean sheds, workshops, garden machinery, trailers and under-house storage are common, and they routinely add more volume than expected — consistently the most understated part of an inventory. We ask about outbuildings and stored items specifically when quoting.
Getting around
Yallambie has no railway station, with Macleod, Watsonia and Rosanna the nearest connections on the Hurstbridge line and buses serving the suburb. For trucks the useful routes are Yallambie Road, Lower Plenty Road, the Greensborough Highway and Rosanna Road, with the Metropolitan Ring Road a short run north.
Where Yallambie moves go
Most stay in the north-east: Macleod, Viewbank, Watsonia, Lower Plenty, Greensborough or Rosanna. There is also a regular pattern of downsizing off the larger blocks into local townhouses, and families moving in for the space and the parkland.
